Who we are
Loupe (a working name; the business is not yet registered) turns recordings that clients own into short captioned clips. Contact: The owner, the editor in chief. We will register with the ICO before launch.
What we collect
- From clients: your name, work email, business details, the recordings you send us, their transcripts, and your caption style and word list.
- People in recordings: the voices, faces and words of you, your guests and anyone else on screen. Guests take part only with a signed release. Webinar attendees are cropped out and their names and questions dropped unless they agreed.
- Platform results: view and engagement totals from accounts you connect, for your monthly note.
- Contact Sheet form: name, business, email and a link to your recording.
- Lightbox: your email, only if you tick the box.
Why, and on what basis
- To make and deliver your clips (contract).
- To make your free Contact Sheet (your request).
- To send Lightbox (consent; unsubscribe in one click).
- To keep accounts and tax records (legal obligation).
What we never do
- We never clip content you don't own or hold a licence for.
- We never post anything without your approval.
- We never use your recordings or voice to train AI models, clone a voice or change a face.
- We never sell data or share it with advertisers. Advertisers see totals only.
Who helps us
A transcription and AI model provider, a video rendering and storage provider (UK or EU), the platforms you connect (through their official tools), and an email provider. Each processes data under a written agreement.
How long we keep it
Source recordings and transcripts: deleted 90 days after delivery. Finished clips: until you cancel, then 30 days. Accounts records: 6 years. Contact Sheet requests: 6 months unless you sign up.
Your rights
You can ask for a copy, a correction, deletion, or to object. You can complain to the ICO at ico.org.uk.
